Special Guests - Prize Giving Ceremony 2015
Two special guests will join the 5th annual Dickens Sanomi Essay Competition Prize Giving Ceremony. This year the Dickens Sanomi Foundation Team are joined by Chidi Okekeozor and Bash S Amumeni.
Chidi Okekeozor of DonQozar inc. is the author of ‘Rochas We Know’. A book project dedicated to one of the leading Governors in Nigeria, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Nigeria. Through this project, Nigerian citizens learned about the governors’ values, his selfless leadership and service. DonQozar inc. donated to the recent DSF Book Drive.
Mr. Basiru Sunday Amuneni (Bash)
"Bash" is an Architect, Essayist, Performance Poet, and has 7 years’ experience as a Banker. He is the Co-editor of "Through the eyes of innocence" - a collection of poetry written by children under 15 years. The compilation captures their honest and naive thoughts on the Nigerian situation. This project was fully and privately funded as an attempt to give voice to young poets and also provide a platform where children can speak up in an atmosphere of healthy competition. Bash is currently working on his first spoken word album titled "Freedom". The body of work is laced in love, intimacy, folklore, the human condition and also contains hard contents that jab the economic and political conscience of Nigeria. Bash has performed at various platforms around the Country. He is a member of the Abuja Literary Society, EB Arts & Poetry club, Jos, Plateau State and one of the figures behind the movement, Freedom Hall Abuja- which provides an atmosphere where everyday people can express their innate talents to an everyday crowd
The award ceremony for the DSF Essay Competition 2015 will take place on 8th October 2015 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel. Winners will be announced on the DSF social media channels, so look out for our updates!
