DSF Supports Abuja for Children and Strauss School

For the third year in succession the Dickens Sanomi Foundation is proud to be supporting the end of year production of the Strauss School of Music and Dance outreach programme, Abuja for Children.  This year, the children will be giving a complete performance of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical, ‘The King and I’.  The show will take place at the This Day Dome in the Central area of Abuja, and the curtain will go up at 6pm on the 12th December.

The production will feature singing, dancing and acting by 90 local children from as young as four years of age.  The children have been rehearsing since the beginning of September with the help of more 30 volunteers and members of staff from the Strauss School of Music and Dance, who use the Abuja for Children project to provide free tuition in music, dance and other performing arts to children who would otherwise have no access to these activities.

In addition to show, this year’s event will also feature a raffle with some excellent prizes including:

1st prize: A trip to the UK;

2nd prize: An Apple Ipad;

3rd prize: 3 months of Music Technology tuition at the Straus School.

Tickets for the performance can be purchased in advance from:
