And the winners are...

The Dickens Sanomi Foundation held the grand finale of the 2015 Spelling Bee competition on the 23rd of April 2015 at the Midel Centre in Gudu District.

30 students who were the best spellers from the preliminary rounds, which were carried out in ten Junior Secondary Schools, represented each of their schools at the Spelling Bee Finale.

Once again the students were competing for a year’s supply of textbooks as recommended by the Education Board and donated by the Dickens Sanomi Foundation. The students and their accompanying teachers were enthusiastic and participated fully in the event.

This year, the winners were from three different schools across the Federal Capital Territory.

The 2015 DSF Spelling Bee winners are:

  • Creator Edwins of Junior Secondary School Lugbe Federal Housing, JSS1
  • Bitrus Lehritshima of Junior Secondary School Garki Area 11, JSS2
  • Victor Samuel of Junior Secondary School Gwarimpa 1, Life Camp, JSS3

The Foundation hopes to continue this exciting and rewarding event in the coming years.
