DSF Celebrates World Book Day 2014

In Celebration of World Book Day which takes place on 6th March 2014, the Dickens Sanomi Foundation is partnering with Kachifo Ltd, an independent publishing house based in Lagos State, Nigeria, to distribute literature books to senior secondary schools in Abuja, Lagos and Delta State.

This year the Foundation will be donating a book called the Purple Hibiscus, by Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.  Adichie won the Commonwealth Writers prize and was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction 2004. Purple Hibiscus is a text book on the students’ West African Examination Council (WAEC) syllabus.

Over 1000 books will be distributed between the three states. We aim to distribute 300 books between the six senior secondary schools in Abuja. The books will be donated to the libraries for the students to use for years to come.

‘The Dickens Sanomi Foundation is proud to partner with Kachifo Ltd to distribute books for the benefit of Nigeria’s youth. The Purple Hibiscus is an award winning book which will be enjoyed for generations to come.’
